Information we process
Image recognition processes the cover or page photo you select. Summaries process the text, book title and author you provide. Images are sent to our server and OpenAI only when you review the notice and start recognition.
Storage
We do not save uploaded images or source passages in a separate database, and AI request storage is disabled. OpenAI security and abuse monitoring retention follows its own policy. Notes you choose to save stay on this browser or app device. There is no account synchronization.
Usage limits
To operate the public beta reliably, the server keeps a daily hashed identifier and request counts. The counter contains no raw IP, photo or source text. Identifiers change daily; requests trigger cleanup of counters older than the most recent eight calendar buckets.
Your controls
Delete saved notes from My library. Clearing site data or uninstalling the app may remove local notes; export important notes first. Sharing sends a note to the application you select.
Summary scope
A cover is not the full book. Verified descriptions produce description-based notes; your passages produce notes limited to the supplied text. Check AI notes against the source.
Ads and connection records
The web version and app builds with advertising disabled have no ads. There is no sign-up. Source text is not sent to visitor analytics. Hosting providers may process IP addresses and request times to operate and protect the service.
Ad-enabled app versions
Ad-enabled native app versions use Google AdMob. Banners may appear on Home and Library, with an occasional full-screen ad after you finish reading and return to the library. Google may process IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, diagnostics and related identifiers for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. We request non-personalized ads; this does not eliminate all data processing. We do not request iOS tracking permission or send book text, titles, photos or personal notes for ad targeting. Google UMP checks required consent before ad requests. Where required, you can change ad privacy choices from the app’s Privacy screen.
