1. Information we process and why

WordSeed does not collect information that identifies you, such as your name, email address, phone number or location. There is no SLOX server, so nothing is sent to SLOX. The information below is stored on your device or processed briefly while you use the app. Everything is stored in one place in the app's own storage, which the operating system keeps separate for each app (storage key slox-malssi-v1). None of the items below are passed to the ads SDK. The information the Google ads SDK handles to show ads, such as the advertising ID, is described separately in section 5.

• What you say (the sentence itself)

  Turned into text by your operating system's speech recognition, in the language of the app (English or Korean). The sound level (0 to 1) is used only to animate the orb.

• Your growing WordSeed

  What

  Stage (egg, growing or adult), day count, days you talked, quiet days, running totals of the three scores, days to grow up (7, 14 or 21), birthday (YYYY-MM-DD), the last score (three scores, character count and number of negations) and the adult form

  Growth calculations and the Home screen

  Stored in

  The app's storage on your device

  Kept for

  Until you use Clear data in Settings or delete the app. When you get a new egg, the adult moves to your collection and the state starts over.

• Collection cards

  What

  The adult form (one of 8), the name and one-line personality the app gives that form, birthday, the date it grew up, day count, days you talked and the average of the three scores. Your sentences are never included.

• Talk history (most recent 200)

  What

  When you talked (local time), character count, the three scores, number of negations, your WordSeed's reply, which day it was, the stage at the time and whether you used your voice. Your sentences are never included.

  The History tab, and showing the last reply when you reopen the app

  Kept for

  Once there are more than 200 entries, the oldest are deleted automatically. Kept until you use Clear data in Settings or delete the app.

• Daily ledger

  What

  Today's date, how many times you talked today, today's score totals and the last day that was settled

  Purpose

  Day-by-day growth, and counting days that pass without talking

  Stored in

  The app's storage on your device

  Kept for

  Reset when you get a new egg or use Clear data. Kept until you delete the app.

• Settings

  What

  Voice replies on or off, Fast growth on or off, whether you have seen the mic explanation, and whether you completed the age check

  Keeps your settings, shows the mic explanation only once and remembers your age check

  Kept after Clear data, and deleted when you delete the app

Tone scoring happens entirely on your device, using a word list plus negation checks. The English app uses an English word list and the Korean app uses a Korean word list, each with 50 entries per score. No language model or server is used, and once a sentence has been turned into the three scores, the character count and the number of negations, it is not kept anywhere. The app language simply follows your device settings and is not stored.

2. Permissions

• Microphone (Android RECORD_AUDIO, iOS microphone permission). Turned on only while you hold the “Hold to talk” button. It closes as soon as you let go, pause for 2.5 seconds or reach 8 seconds. It does not listen while idle, and it stops listening when the app goes to the background. The first time you press the button, an explanation of how the mic works appears first, and the system permission prompt appears only after you choose “Allow mic and talk.” If you deny the permission, or your device does not support speech recognition, you can do the same thing by typing in the “Or type it (no mic)” box.
• Speech recognition (iOS speech recognition permission). Used only to turn what you say into text in the language of the app. The text is discarded right after scoring. On Android, the app calls the speech recognition service installed on the device, with no separate permission.
• Internet (Android INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, AD_ID). Not declared by the app's own code; the Google ads SDK adds these at build time. They are normal permissions that never show a prompt, and they are used only to load the banner on the History tab. All of WordSeed's features work without the internet.
• No other permissions. WordSeed has no location, camera, photos, contacts, notifications or background execution permissions. The package queries for speech recognition services and text-to-speech engines in the Android manifest let the app find the device's recognizer and voice engine. They are not permissions.
• Permission prompts follow your device language (English or Korean).

3. What is sent to a server and how long it is kept

WordSeed has no server of its own. The app does not send the information in section 1 to SLOX or to any other server, and there are no accounts, profiles or sharing features. It does not handle location, names or contacts. Because nothing is kept on a SLOX server, there is no server retention period. The only ways information can leave your device are the operating system speech recognition described in section 4 and the Google ads SDK described in section 5.

4. Service providers, sharing and international transfers

SLOX does not hand the information in section 1 to service providers or share it with third parties, and it uses no cloud database or hosting service. The following three features are provided by companies other than SLOX and follow their own privacy policies.

• Google AdMob (in-app ads). To show the banner on the History tab, the Google ads SDK collects the information described in section 5 and processes it on Google's servers. Google runs servers in several countries, so this information may be processed outside your country. What is collected, why, and your choices are described in section 5.
• Operating system speech recognition. When you talk using the “Hold to talk” button, Apple speech recognition on iOS, or the speech recognition service installed on Android (usually Google), turns your words into text in the language of the app. In English it uses your device's English region if one is set, otherwise US English. Depending on your device and settings, audio may go through the provider's recognition servers, under that company's privacy policy. The WordSeed app itself never sends your voice anywhere. • Operating system text-to-speech. Your WordSeed's reply is read aloud by your device's text-to-speech engine in the language of the app. It reads only the reply WordSeed makes, never what you said. You can turn it off with Voice replies under Sound in Settings.

5. Ads

WordSeed shows one Google AdMob banner at the bottom of the History tab, just above the tab bar. Home (where you talk), Collection and Settings have no ads, and there are no interstitial or rewarded ads. The ads SDK starts only after you complete the age check. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect your device's advertising ID, approximate location based on your IP address (country or region level), ad views and clicks, and app performance and crash diagnostics. What you say, your scores, your collection cards and your talk history are never passed to the ads SDK.

• No tracking. On iOS, WordSeed does not ask for App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission and does not use the advertising ID to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• Ad content rating. Ads are requested with a maximum content rating of T (Teen).
• Consent and choices. Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK see a consent form before any ad is shown and can change their choice at any time with Ad privacy settings in the Settings tab. Elsewhere, no extra consent is needed, so the button is unavailable and shows “Not needed in your region.”
• Deletion and questions. Information collected by the ads SDK is processed by Google. SLOX does not receive it at the individual level, so it cannot be deleted from within the app. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID under Ads in your device settings. For details on how Google processes this data, see Google's advertising policy.
• No analytics. WordSeed includes no usage analytics SDKs and uses the internet for nothing other than ads.

6. Children

WordSeed is for people 16 or older in the English app and 14 or older in the Korean app. On first launch, a dialog asks “Are you 16 or older?” (in the Korean app, “만 14세 이상인가요?”). If you choose No, only a screen that blocks use appears, and nothing but Check again is available. The ads SDK does not start until you confirm. The app stores only whether you confirmed, never your birth date or age. The question is asked once; if you change your device language later, it is not asked again. Because there are no accounts, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages, and if we learn that any was collected, we delete it promptly.

7. Your rights and how to delete your data

You can see and delete the information stored on your device directly in the app. There is no server copy, so SLOX cannot view or restore it for you.

• See it. Home shows the current state and the last score, History shows your talk history, and Collection shows your cards.
• Delete it in the app. In the Settings tab, under Data, tap Clear data and confirm. Your growing WordSeed, collection cards and talk history are all erased, and you start over with a new egg. This cannot be undone. The four settings (voice replies, fast growth, whether you saw the mic explanation and your age check) remain.
• Delete the app. Deleting the app removes everything from your device, including the settings.
• Withdraw microphone consent. Turn off WordSeed's microphone permission in your device settings. You can still use every feature by typing in the “Or type it (no mic)” box.
• Server data deletion requests. WordSeed stores nothing on a server, so there is nothing to delete. Send any questions or requests to namurobori@gmail.com and we will reply.
• EEA and UK. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Security

• There is no SLOX server or account, so the information in section 1 has no path to leak in transit or from a server.
• Information on your device is kept in app storage that the operating system keeps separate for each app. What you say and your voice are never stored there, only derived numbers such as the three scores, plus your WordSeed's replies.
• The microphone opens only while you hold the button and closes as soon as recognition ends or the app goes to the background. The recognized sentence is handed over once and then cleared from memory.
• The app's code makes no network requests. The network is used, over HTTPS, only when the Google ads SDK loads ads.
• If stored data is corrupted, the app does not read it; it discards it and starts fresh.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the changes, the revision date and the effective date on this page. If new processing is added or a change is unfavorable to users, we will announce it in the app and on this page before it takes effect.

• September 23, 2026 (v1.0): First version.
• September 24, 2026 (v1.1): Added one Google AdMob banner at the bottom of the History tab. Section 5 became Ads, and the internet permission, service provider and international transfer text was updated.
• October 7, 2026 (v1.2): Added the English app (English name WordSeed) and this full English policy. Sections 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 now cover English speech recognition, scoring with an English word list, English replies and read-aloud, the minimum age (16 in the English app, 14 in the Korean app), and the fact that the ads SDK starts only after the age check. Nothing new is stored or sent. Applies from app version 1.1.0.
